The withdrawal of AFP Chile funds is a common procedure for foreign professionals who have worked in the country and wish to recover their pension contributions at the end of their activity. However, the process can raise doubts, especially when international factors or specific administrative situations intervene.
At UR Global we manage the withdrawal of AFP Chile funds with a practical approach, ensuring that each client understands the process and can complete it without friction. Our objective is to simplify a procedure that, without adequate support, can become more complex than expected.
What does this service include?
AFP’s fund withdrawal advisory service covers all the necessary phases to complete the process correctly. We begin with a review of the client’s situation, verifying compliance with the requirements required to be able to request withdrawal, especially in the case of foreign workers.
From there, we manage the preparation of the necessary documentation and coordinate the presentation to the corresponding entities. This process includes continuous monitoring until resolution, ensuring that there are no incidents that could delay collection.
In cases of withdrawal of AFP funds for foreigners, we pay special attention to international aspects, such as compliance with the requirements demanded by Law 18,156, aspects that often raise doubts if they are not managed properly.
Methodology
Our way of working is based on an individualized analysis of each case. Not all AFP withdrawal processes are the same, since they may vary depending on the employment and administrative situation of the applicant. Once the case has been analyzed, we define a clear roadmap, explaining each step and anticipating possible critical points. This allows us to avoid common errors in processing and reduce management times.
In addition, we accompany the client throughout the process, maintaining constant communication and ensuring that any additional requirements are managed quickly, avoiding unnecessary blockages.
Who is this service for?
This service is aimed mainly at foreign professionals who have worked in Chile and need to manage the withdrawal of AFP funds in Chile at the end of their activity in the country.
It is also relevant for international companies that manage expatriation processes or employee relocation and they need to ensure that these procedures are carried out correctly for their teams.
Complementary services
The AFP fund withdrawal service in Chile is complemented by other solutions aimed at international mobility and tax management of professionals and companies.
Among them, international tax advice, expatriation planning and accompaniment in processes of entry or exit from different countries. This comprehensive approach allows each situation to be managed in a coordinated manner, avoiding inconsistencies and facilitating an orderly transition.
Accounting advisory
At UR Global, we have a well-established local team and our own offices in 11 countries—Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Portugal, Chile, Morocco, the United States, and Italy—specialising in accounting advisory services.
As part of managing subsidiaries in each country, we handle all required accounting and financial processes. This ensures that headquarters maintains a clear overview and fully understands the financial statements and specific accounting nuances of each location.
To achieve this, our team includes specialists in tax and accounting advisory and management. They possess expertise in both local regulations and the treaties Spain holds with these various countries, enabling them to manage the company’s monthly accounting and related strategies.
International taxation
We support groups and companies with international operations in safeguarding the tax position of their cross-border transactions and intragroup flows. Our approach combines a technical analysis of the applicable regulations, the interpretation of double taxation treaties and compliance with documentation requirements (transfer pricing and other international obligations).
Single Register of Tenderers (RUP)
One of the requirements for taking part in public tendering processes is the Single Register of Tenderers – RUP, a legally established register maintained by chambers of commerce, in which national or foreign natural or legal persons domiciled or with a branch in Colombia who wish to enter into contracts with state entities for the execution of works, supply of goods or provision of services must be enrolled. This register contains information relating to the experience, legal capacity, financial capacity, organisational capacity and classification of the tenderer. This procedure has a maximum response time of 15 working days once the registration application has been submitted to the commercial register.
It is important to bear in mind that the RUP must be renewed annually; renewal must be carried out from the first (1st) of January and no later than the fifth (5th) working day of April each year, failing which the initial registration will be lost.
Tax and accounting review to identify potential tax credits
Brazil’s complex tax system can lead to situations in which a company accumulates tax credits, whether as a result of its transactions or negative balances. In such cases, the company may be entitled to use those tax credits.
At UR Global, we analyse the company’s accounting and tax position to determine whether such credits exist. Once identified and confirmed, UR Global handles their recovery, management and offsetting.
